How it works

From checkout to your first photo at home.

OU Vault is a physical install, not a new password on a rented disk. You buy the box. We ship it. You plug it into the house internet. You claim it. Then you move the library you already paid for onto hardware you own.

1

Order the kit that matches the building

Most homes take the Home Bundle so coverage is done on day one. Offices take the three-repeater pack. Private AI buyers take the Data + AI Stack. Listed SKUs check out on Shop. Custom multi-site and multi-GPU kits get a written quote.

2

Receive metal, not a login

The OU Vault chassis arrives with power and Ethernet guidance. Repeaters and the AI node arrive as matching line items when you ordered them. This is hardware you can hold.

3

Give it the house internet

Uplink to your ISP. Connect the core devices. Power on. The vault starts DHCP, local DNS, and the private Wi‑Fi for the premises. The house network now has a disk that belongs to you.

4

Claim it so only you drive it

Bind the unit to the owning account. The privatized stack comes up. AI Guard begins baseline monitoring on the box under your roof.

5

Bring the library home

Import Drive-style folders, phone photo exports, and contact lists (SIM / CSV / vCard). Point phones on the house SSID at home services. Optional Data Home Relocation assist is $499 if you want a guided cutover.

6

Turn on private AI when you are ready

Place the AI Server Node on the LAN, claim it, and pull local models. Household tools call inference on your GPUs. Prompts stay in the building — the point of buying the node.

7

Fill the dead zones and the doors

Pair repeaters so every floor reaches the vault. Add cameras, the doorbell, the lock, lights, and plugs. They talk to your LAN first. Video records to your disk.

After install

The house keeps working. The lease can shrink.

You do not have to cancel every cloud on day one. You do have a place that is yours. Photos you move stay on the vault. Cameras you add record at home. Voice and lights run on the LAN. The AI node is there when you want model help without sending the prompt out.

That is the sale: one purchase that turns the building into the owner of its own data, the same way Observable Universe turns a creator into the owner of their audience.
